The Mother of all Maritime Links : Just as the name suggests - a site with hundreds of links on all sorts of maritime interests

Howdy Dave's Maritime Link Site Another good site with lots of commercial fishing related links

Gadus Associates Huge link site devoted to all aspects of commercial fisheries

Scottish Fishermen's Organisation:  manages the fishing activities of its members making it one of the largest fisheries managers in Europe. Lots of useful information about commercial fishing and good links

Bateaux de Peche :  French site with fishing boat photographs, particularly Sables D'Olonne, but also other French ports.  Click on the word "Sommaire" to Enter Site

Peter Gatz has a homepage for German fishing boats and links to other German fishing boat and maritime sites.  The whole site is in German, but is simple to navigate.

Kadeplaatjes  This is a Dutch website with fishing boat photographs.  The whole webpage is in Dutch, but it is fairly easy, with a little bit of guesswork, to navigate around the site. Lots of links to Dutch fishing boat sites

Jacob Nadema has a Dutch website with fishing boat photographs and information

The Irish Skipper - Commercial Fishing and Aquaculture newspaper, with a good online facility covering news and links

Alf Hodson was the skipper of the Grimsby trawler “Ross Tiger”.  Now he has a website showing his watercolours of fishing boats

Neil Taylor-Cashmore  has a website with paintings of seascapes, fishing boats, etc

Edward Smith is based in the north east coastal area of Scotland, and produces a fine range of model ships and also highly detailed fishing boat and ship prints

Squadron Prints are a Scottish company with a reputation for very detailed, technically accurate aircraft prints, but they also have a range of warship prints as well.

Arbroath Fisheries produce the famous “Arbroath Smokies” – succulent smoked haddock made by the traditional method that made the town famous.  Also other smoked fish.  Mail order service available

MUSEUMS, PRESERVED BOATS, AND HISTORICAL RESEARCH

Devoted to the preservation of old fishing boats (40+ years old). Lots of good historical information. The low cost annual subscription to get their magazine is good value for the amount of information in each issue

Harry Tates Navy  Slang title for the Royal Navy Patrol Service.  If you are looking for information about fishing boats and trawlers, or their Crews, in WW2 service, this is a good starting point

Kelvin Marine Engines were made in Scotland and powered many Scottish fishing boats. Kelvin is now just a part of the vast GEC conglomerate, but this site looks at the historic engines - lots of photos, information and personal recollections

The Swan is a 67 foot traditional Scottish "Fifie" built in 1900 for herring fishing, and now preserved in Lerwick, Shetland
